To be human is complex in terms of our internal, emotional worlds, which we inhabit as a direct result of our biology and our life experiences.
These paintings are conceptual self-portraits, stepping deeply into vulnerability to share personal stories which express the human experience through the lens of emotional complexity.
They convey a variety of emotions, capturing some of the highs and lows and the way in which certain life events can help to shape our emotional journey through life. They aim to create a visual dialogue, to engage the viewer in a sense of relatable feelings, to pause for a moment and connect to the shared feelings, which we can all experience as part of being human.
